As part of World Express’ commitment to community engagement and care for the environment, our team recently participated in a tree-planting session organised by City Sprouts at Vidacity, Singapore’s sustainability innovation hub. Vidacity serves as a collaborative space that brings together sustainability-focused businesses, educators, and community groups to explore solutions that contribute to a greener future. The activity was conducted alongside students from Cedar Secondary School, allowing us to connect with youths from the local community.

During the session, our team worked alongside the students to prepare the soil and plant young trees. Beyond the hands-on activity, it was also rewarding to engage with the students through casual conversations, sharing more about World Express, the tourism industry, and the importance of sustainability in our work.

Following the tree-planting activity, participants attended a mycelium workshop led by Mr Eric Lin, co-founder of Mushroom Academy World. The workshop introduced the potential of mycelium—the root-like structure of fungi—as a sustainable material and demonstrated how organic waste can be transformed into new and useful products through natural processes. The session provided valuable insights into circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and innovative approaches to reducing waste, reinforcing the importance of environmental education and sustainable practices in creating a more sustainable future.

It was an inspiring day of learning, collaboration, and hands-on action. Experiences like these remind us that sustainability is most impactful when communities, businesses, and future generations come together to make a difference.
